Here's a little more about the lovely lady behind these art works...
Tell us little bit about you!
"I live in Mt Martha and have done so for the past 13 years. I am married with a 6 year old son, Ryder. He is the light in our life after loosing our eldest son Jaxon almost 8 years ago at the tender age of 1 year to a rare heart defect and is a big part of why I paint. I love living on the peninsula. We are so blessed to have such beautiful beaches shops, restaurants and wineries at our doorstep. It’s such a beautiful place to raise your kids and I wouldn’t be anywhere else."
When did your creative passion begin?
"I have always loved being creative. From a young age particularly in my teens. I studied after high school and become a Graphic Designer which I have done for over 15 years now. I always felt so lucky to have a job I love. I did an Acrylic Workshop with a local artist a couple of years ago which reignited my love of painting and getting my hands dirty. It just clears my mind and feeds my soul and I love helping people bring their spaces to life with my art."
Tell us about the process when making one of your pieces?
"A lot of my work is Acrylic paint and I use a technique called Flow. Flow Art is a form of abstract art that uses acrylic paints with a runny (fluid) consistency. The acrylic paints react with each other when combined together to make interesting and visually organic motifs. I also dabble in alcohol inks. It’s such a relaxing way to spend hours on end. You really get lost in the moment and I love the vibrancy of ink."
How can we get our hands on one?
"Majority of my work is commission based. So my clients get the exact size and colours they are after to compliment the space it’s for. You can check out my Facebook page @Soulflowart or Instagram @soulflowartbyjanelle and pm me with any enquiries!"
